Session 3E: Tall Timber: Americas

21 October 2018
1:45 PM – 3:15 PM

Despite the prevalence of wood in low-rise construction practices, timber faces some steep challenges on the road to acceptance as a primary structural element in tall buildings, particularly in terms of local fire codes. However, a robust manufactured timber and prefabrication infrastructure holds promise. Three representatives from distinct locations and disciplines in the region present the state of tall timber in the Americas.
