Polycentric Developments in the Middle East – Opening Plenary

21 October 2018
9:20 AM – 10:45 AM

The development pattern of the most prominent Middle Eastern cities has largely been “polycentric.” Main districts are largely clusters of development conceived and executed by single developers on a theme, anchored by one or more spectacular tall buildings and set some distance apart. This trend seems to be accelerating. The opening plenary and the conference features key figures behind some of the biggest transformations currently underway, or planned for the near future, exploring implications for government, planning and design communities.
